Something to think about....
Last night after finishing work at Irish Murphy's (the pub job), I sat down and had a chat with AJ who is a bloke living at the pub while in Australia studying.
Anyway, AJ is a black South African, if that is not politically correct should I say native? A young guy in Oz studying Robotics who it seems has met the wrong people here and is living a hectic life at present.
Last night AJ had a phone call from home in South Africa (Cape Flats I think he said) saying that his younger brother had been stabbed and pistol whipped and that since coming to Australia 5 of his friends had been killed....He was saying he wanted to go home to protect his family and that it is a white mans world and that it didn't matter that how well his family had done for themselves that they would still be black.
Anyways... the point of this was that I got thinking that we live in one lucky country, here is a young (30 years old) guy that has come to Oz to get more of an education and now has to worry about shit that most of us do not even think about...
I love Australia...

China Blues
This is the China Blues Australian Rules Football Team. I played 2 tournaments with this side, the big red headed fella in the middle is The Rooster (Julian Clark), founder of the Blues and a legend of a man... He has a achieved things that should not be put in print. The Blues were a mixed groups of guys that just wanted to play footy and have a bit of fun, in both tournaments we were unable to win a game but were clear leaders in the off field stakes...
I'm up the back with my shirt off in this pic, I was a playing coach in this tournament and struggled after a massive night on the juice on the Friday, it took a couple of Jack Daniels before I felt well enough to take the field as a player.
This one was in 2003 in Hong Kong in a tournament won by Hong Kong, the previous year we played in Singapore and the Jakarta Bintangs were the champs.
There is a bit more HERE on footy in China...

Sebastian

This is my eldest boy... Sebastian... He was born in April 2004 and (we think this is funny) "Made in Taiwan".. Thank god the quality of products coming from there has improved over the years...
I have to say at this point that there is very little if anything that can be better than being a father... It is awesome watching a child grow up in close quarters.
He is a wild one.... testing us out all the time.
